The children learn to recognise numbers 1 to 10 and count in english and french:
1) An adult ask the child to repeat each number as it is being shown.
2) An adult ask the child to repeat and move each number up or down a line. (Here, the child becomes actor thanks to this hands on activity).
3) An adult starts by moving number 1, then the child has to move number 2, the adult number 3, and so on. (Note that the child needs to get used to move both 1 and 0 together when saying number 10).
4) Adapt the game above (3) by moving '1,2' then the child has to move '3,4' and so on.
5) Move all the numbers one by one then it's the child's turn.
Avantages:
Advantages:
- The child realises that counting up to 10 is not only repeating a serie of numbers, since every time he says a number, he also move an object down the line (here, a magnetic number)
- Children enjoy learning through play.
